What wheels should you choose? Should it be small, wide, large, square or oval? There is a variety of tires available in the market but each of it can perform efficiently depending on the type of car that you are using. You often hear 4wd or 2wd. Or you might be familiar with types of car, a sedan type, SUV type or jeep. Depending on the type of the car, your tire should be matched properly.
1. For example, carriages used before are made of woods and so tires were made of woods too. However, because loads become heavier, woods were turned into steel and eventually to rubber.
2. Tires have contact patch that you can lengthen or widen. If you are using a 4wheel drive, a longer patch is appropriate but it will be problematic if it is a passenger car. This only means that tires are not universal for all types of vehicles.
3. When the aspect ratio of a tire gets down, several changes could happen. The shorter sidewalls could be good because it will stabilize the tread and the contact patch will become more square. However, shorter sidewalls can’t be good all the time because the wheel will be at risk for damages.
